empathy card 02:21
It will be ok. Change comes to us all and if you lose your way, just know you’re not alone. Triumph is temporary, also pain and loss. In the darkest moments when words are not enough; believe in love and it will be ok. Take the time, the time slipping away. And we have today only for a moment anyway. Look at where we are now: so far from where we planned. The curses and the blessings so hard to understand. We will meet again. Not sure when, but I carry all your memories until the time I cease to be.

qui bono 02:29
Eating our own teeth. Binding our own feet. Cut the nose to spite the face. Sold our tongues to buy a taste. Compress this chest in now. Red lipstick glisten wow. Show me how a suit and tie makes someone seem alive. Dress this corpse, paint the face. Let’s dance with our destroyers. Stay out late. Seal our fate. Digging our own grave, the soil sucks the spade deep into the modern age. Buried in a guilded cage.

How wonderful it is that I can see all the colors of this frequency. And if by some way they take my sight from me me today I’m still grateful for the memories. How wonderful it is that I can dance. How lucky just to even get the chance. And if by some way they take my legs from me today.

I was, I am. In some form, I will come again and you, too, you will come through and we, spinning round, skate the plates. We all fall down and this ache is a weight that just takes more than I have now. Here you come just like a ray of sunshine. Didn’t know what I was waiting for but then here you come. To the times in the dark where we melt and pull apart and bask in the warmth of a smile where we’ve been reborn. To the life we can grow and become more than we could know. To the pain and the change and the strange and the beautiful. Here you come just like the rain on Sunday. Didn’t know what I was waiting for but then here you come. Where does all the time go? What the fuck do I know? Cannot help but wonder if this is it. Someone tried to answer prayers for curing cancer, they were half full of shit. See you on the other side when you’re another. We will see each other without “you” or “me”. Is it kinda funny love’s the liquid running through this galaxy?

wake up 02:43
Sun is shining. You can wake up, yeah. You can inspect and reject the notions you’ve been fed. I bet there’s something that you wish that you could change. Throw back the covers, roll back the blinds. Get up and stretch, have some vigorous sex and some breakfast and just say “yes” to all the beauty that you’ll find if you just open up your mind and if you try. Can’t disconnect from the mother. Your very life is because her tall trees help us all to breathe. This stuff is not make-believe. It’s no religious theory. They’ll come in with the machines, put poison under your feet, they’ll rip the earth at the seams but I bet there’s something that you wish that you could change. Don’t wait forever. Don’t wait till you’re not alive. This is the time when we must realize that we’ve all got to live side by side. But if you’re poisoning your home you should be left out on your own. If you rob your fellow man you should be robbed to understand that you don’t take what you have never earned. Share with each other, humans taking turns.

wasted 02:36
We went to work, to school, to church, gave birth and buried bodies like everybody else. And yet sometimes it feels like we’re stuck inside a spinning wheel. Grew up on/fed up with the dirty dreams of politics. Grew up on/fed up with the wasted love within our lungs. With the shapes of war surrounding us and which way to go that’s kept from us. Haven’t we been here before? Was it 50 years, or more? Searching for some common, grounding metaphor. Will we ever understand what is truly valuable? Our stomachs full, we’ll throw the rest away and salt the fertile earth. Pay them not to grow. Shoot them in the streets and at their schools. Keep them in the dark. Rob them of their rights. Divided/Surviving.

stowaway 02:47
8.
There were no rules, there was no code. We started down the road that led us to the sea. No bags to pack, no questions asked: a single file line. Our demons just behind. Dancing kings teenage, blind to any mistakes/knowing everything. I chose not to play. There’s no winning at this game. You will fight your friends and kill them in the end. All working and no playing. Hear the words that I am saying now. If there is any way to scale the walls and burn this maze tonight, I’m down. Give me the light. Hungry, feed until you’re full. We took everything we could. We felt the whole earth shake under all heartbreak and we pressed on.

human zoo 02:12
Such a lovely life living down on the farm, stocking up on guns to keep us free from harm. Not just cuz we don’t trust the government but also cuz we don’t like to pay our rent, no. Why don’t we live on a farm baby? Get some pigs and a barn, baby. Put your arm in my arm while we walk on a farm. Why don’t we live on a farm baby? Animals in a barn, baby. Put your arm in my arm while we walk on a farm. No fluoride in the water, we won’t choke on the air, yeah we can watch the deer have sex with the bear and in between kisses from your luscious lips we’ll take care and prepare for the apocalypse.

Six billion people in the room. How impossible that we should meet or better still, that we were born, dust and rubble in the cosmic storm. Is it really over champagne supernova? We were high. Any day/tomorrow, see you later, sayonara. At least we tried. Consistent as the days we spent, till they fade away. The rest is swept away. Momma help me be true. Father give me wisdom too. Monkey see as monkey do. Baby, I’m a monkey too. After armageddon, waiting list for heaven: last in line. If the world is ending can we keep pretending? Entangled in spacetime. I can’t be mad for all I never had because I had you once, too.
